Interaction Design & Creative Technology

My journey into design began unexpectedly, with a job posting for a UX designer landing on my desk while I was working as a bank teller. Despite having no formal design training, the description resonated deeply with me. It was a lightbulb moment, connecting my psychology degree from Wilfrid Laurier with my natural creativity and problem-solving skills.

Driven by curiosity and a desire to merge my love for human psychology with design, I dove headfirst into Sheridan College's Interaction Design program. It was there that I found my stride, surrounded by peers who saw the world through a similar lens. My background in psychology became a valuable asset, allowing me to approach design challenges with a unique perspective. From understanding how we perceive information to unraveling the complexities of human behavior, I bring a multifaceted approach to every project.

For me, design is about digging deep into the core of each problem, constantly asking "why" to uncover the root causes and real user needs. It's this process of peeling back layers and challenging assumptions that fuels my creative problem-solving. When I can bring all my skills and interests together to solve a problem creatively, that's when I feel most alive as a designer. It's this passion for understanding people and creating meaningful solutions that drives me every day in my design career.
